Our History

We, the KGS Group, was founded in 1953 and KGS Philippines Corporation was established in 1995 as the main factory for braille cells. This year’s 4th quarter, We will commence a braille display project to support visually impaired people in the Philippines.

1953

KGS (Japan) established in Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Mainly engaged in manufacturing parts for communication equipment.

1995

KGS Philippines was established in Cebu

Company achieved a major milestone with its PEZA Registration as a 'Registered Enterprise'
from Mactan Ecozone 2, Lapu-Lapu City.

1999

Started exporting Braille Cells to Europe and America

We supply our products to Europe and America which are growing along with digitalization.

2002

Obtained ISO 9002:1994 Certification for Quality Management System

2005

Mass production of Braille cells (SC11) begins.

This is the most commonly used type of Braille cell at present. There are currently 7 types with minor changes to this type.

2006

Obtained ISO 9001:2000 Certification for Quality Management System

2007

Obtained ISO 14001:2004 Certification. In addition to Quality Management System,

we incorporate environmentally friendly manufacturing processes into our policies.

2009

Start of Mass production of Braille labeler (BL1000). This is the origin of “LINK” model.

2014

JICA conducted "Feasibility Study on Education and Employment Support for Blind Children Using Braille Mobile Terminals" project targeting the Philippines.

2018

Collaboration with Cebu City LGU thru the City’s Public Library by establishing Braille Section inside the library to improve their services for their Blind constituents.

2022

Collaboration with Mandaue City LGU thru the City’s Public Library and the SPED School to improve their services for their Blind constituents and students who are attending inclusive education.

2023

Increased capital, relocated to MEZ, and started sales activities in the Philippines.

Collaboration with Quezon City LGU thru PDAO-QC and National Vocational Rehabilitation Center to improve their educational system and services for the Blind Students in the City.
